Up to now, with the show being tomorrow, I have practiced everything I could to the standard that it could have been.
One Last Time from Hamilton looks really good and in particular, because I am rapping, I have practiced my diction quite a lot so my audience can understand what I am saying. But overall this song is ready to go tomorrow.
Words Fail from Dear Evan Hansen, with big regret, I have had to choose a lower key backing track by half a step because I am that worried that my voice with break or that I won't hit the note because of nerves and ultimately, I want it to sound good. So I have practiced with the new backing track now and I can hit the notes better. I know this isn't ideal but otherwise, I would have great anxiety going up to that song and ruin my whole performance because of nerves.
With So Little To Be Sure Of from Anyone Can Whistle, this is the song that I am most confident with as I have been practicing this song for over a year and I have used this song at other cabarets so this sounds good and feels comfortable. I have staged it so the audience is the other character i am singing to and I am going to use members of the audience and make them feel like I've aimed this song to them.
Love Is An Open Door from Frozen, Izzy dropped out last minute so is unable to sing this song with me anymore, so I have asked Ophelia who already knows the song quite well to sing it with me. Just today, we have staged the song and made it look really Disney with our movements and used choreography used in the movie.
Overall, I am excited for tomorrows performance and I have also written a mental script for what to say in between songs too.
